Brink dev poaches Enslaved lead gameplay programmer

Will oversee studio's expansion as technical director

Splash Damage, a name you might have seen attached to last year's shooter Brink, has pinched some talent from Ninja Theory, the Cambridge based developer responsible for Enslaved and Capcom's Devil May Cry reimagining.

Marc Fascia, who served as gameplay programmer on Enslaved, has moved to the London-based studio to oversee all engineering teams as technical director.

He joins the former senior development director of FIFA at the studio as it expands "to additional gaming platforms".

"We're hugely impressed by Marc's combination of insane technical ability and project management skills," said Paul Wedgwood, founder and CEO of Splash Damage. "In particular its Marc's obsession with fun gameplay and his personable nature that makes him the perfect person to lead our army of awesome programmers."

"I'm really happy to be trusted with this incredible responsibility at Splash Damage," commented Fascia.

"We're working on some great things, and managing such a big and talented programming team, across multiple varied and challenging projects, is a wonderful opportunity. I love multiplayer and Splash Damage suits my passion perfectly."

Last month Splash Damage predicted 2012 will be its brightest year yet.

In a message thanking fans for support, Wedgwood said the studio has "several significant announcements to make in the coming weeks and months" and plans on "exploring spaces completely new" to the firm.

According to reports, the dev's next game is based on a 'major entertainment brand' for Disney.
