Rakes in $100 million since launch

EA has confirmed in a financials call today that its online digital service has hit 9.3 million registered users.

The publisher put its success partly down to a number of major partnerships it's secured, including Warner Brothers, THQ, Capcom, along with 11 recently-added publishing agreements including Trion and Robot Entertainment.

Origin's 9.3 million users has helped the service rake in "more than $100 million in non-GAAP revenue since launch," says EA.

    Pointless stats.

You need an Origin account to play BF3 on PC so no PC gamers chose to register with Origin, unless I'm mistaken, not sure if same goes for consoles.

Also already registered EA accounts were turned into Origin accounts so again there's another group that didn't choose to register with Origin.

    Question: What's $100,000,000 divided by 9,300,000 people

Answer: At under $11 per user, nothing worth shouting about really.

I'm "registered" but the height of my experience was being able to no longer find my DLC for ME, DA etc, then having account problems, then being swamped in other bs. Yeah, raging success, if money's all that matters, well short term money at least.

Is that the same major partnership with Capcom which sees the XBox get months of exclusivity with the new Resi demo.

I'm registered but I never use it. Origin just launches in the background whenever I start up battlefield 3.

Pretty sure you had to open an Origin account or upgrade your EA account when Fifa 12 came out.

Well I was force to register for Battlefield 3, and an EA origin account was set up because I logged on to FIFA 12.com features ect ect. I guess only 1 million if that joined the service for the service... Unlike what I did for steam
