FIFA 12, Battlefield 3 pass 10 million sales

Madden NFL 12 does five million

In a positive financial call today, EA confirmed that both FIFA 12 and Battlefield 3 have hit 10 million sales since launch.

Battlefield 3 launched on PS3, 360 and PC in October last year, while FIFA 12 kicked off on every platform known to man in September.

EA said it has also sold through five million copies of Madden NFL 12, which landed in August in US and September in EU.

While good numbers for EA, it (unsurprisingly) hasn't been enough to topple the mighty Modern Warfare 3, which was the best selling game of 2011 in UK and the United States.

MW3 top seller... pfft. Why keep rewarding an obvious lack of innovation? With all that money you'd think Activision could lead the industry.

I said months ago BF3 would easily sell 10m in it's first year after EA's aggressive marketing. BFBC2 = 7m in 18 months. BF3 = 10m in 4 months. Now that stat is actually worth shouting about EA, unlike the stupid "we have 9.3m Origin users."

I would congratulate normally but I'm waiting for Dice to actually finish making my version of BF3.

    I won't predict it but I wouldn't be surprised if BF3 tops 15m by end of 2012.

Obviously it was never going to top CoD this year, everyone knew that, EA stated they knew it wasn't going to either, they said BF3 was going to take a share of the FPS market from CoD, though I'm sure rabid CoD fanboys, EA haters and normally sensible posters will claim they never heard about that as it doesn't fall in line with their anti EA agenda's ;).

    Both wrong.

Fix Madden Goddamnit! If they gave it as much attention as Fifa gets it would be insane.

Well done to EA, BF3 is a solid game and a good step forward for the series, hopefully it provides a base for an epic BF4. As for taking COD share well time will tell but I think many will have bought both.

As for the profits (what's left after the marketing and the 'engine') spend it on some new f**king servers so I don't have the arse matchmaking every few days.

Oh and if Activision don't lead the FPS market I'm not sure who does

Shadows of the Damned 2 you say? I wish, although very unlikely. I went on the Xbox forums the other day to see if peeps loved the game like I did and guess what? No thread whatsoever.
