Juliet Starling isn't your typical high school sweetheart.
Superficially she's a typical cheerleader who loves pink, adores ponies and worships Legally Blonde (along with Evil Dead II apparently - we'll give her props for that).

The cause of the attack forms part of the game's mystery, but we do know that behind the mass Z-outbreak are a band of 'zombie rock lords' determined to slay Juliet for reasons unknown. Call us crazy, but going by Suda51 and Grasshopper's previous videogames we fully expect these rock lords to each have wildly different personalities and form the game's main boss characters.
Juliet's a bag of acrobatics and viciousness wrapped up in a revealing costume. She's also dab hand with her chainsaw and can de-head the San Romero High undead with just a flick of her wrist and a lift of her skirt (it's exploitative like that, you see).
An interesting titbit of info is that James Gunn - director of gross-out horror/comedy Slither - has been involved from the get-go. The Hollywood director had a hand in the game's concept and has teased that actors from his movies will play parts in the finished game.
Needless to say, we're dead excited about 'Pop's chances.

That is all.

I think this looks pretty good tbh. And unlike Bayonetta, the main character is suprisingly hot... for an assortment of textured polygons that is. Ahem. Hopefully the combat will be as slick, too.

looks all good, seems like it'll be all fun, got a bad feeling it might be short and flawed

Looks like another top quality Suda game, expect absolutely no-one to buy it, just like Shadows of the Damned sadly.

I keep meaning to check out Shadows - heard nothing but good things.

You absolutely should check Shadows out, it will be pretty cheap now.

£12 at play last time i checked.
Sure this will go on the top of the Great games that no bugger played this year lists. but luckily for all of us that do appreciate the genius of SUDA 51 people do keep inexplicably giving him cash to make games even though they never sell that well.

lovers of shadows of the damned looking for other cool and unique niche retail games may want to check out deadly premonition and nier if you haven't already done so. I can't recommend either of them enough and ignore reviews cuz they talk s**t about them just like they did with shadows.

And unlike Bayonetta this will undoubtedly have depthless, repetitive gameplay masked by a 'hot' girl in a cheerleader outfit. When a stereotypical blone cheerleader is your main selling point you know the games going to be bad, but it will undoubtedly sell because men are so easily manipulated into buying things in which attractive women flaunt themselves.

Hot blonde cheerleader or no hot blonde cheerleader, Suda's games don't sell, that's a fact.
You desperately need to lighten up if you take what was clearly a joke so seriously.

It's a shame Suda's games don't sell, I did really enjoy Shadows of the Damned, but it seems there's more emphasis placed on the main character than the game itself, which causes me to wonder if they are using her appearance to mask a game that’s otherwise in the realm of mediocrity. I don't have a problem with them garnering attention by flaunting their main character that way as long as they have solid gameplay to back it up.
