Stunning Trials Evolution trailer shows FPS gameplay

No, seriously - a 'crazy powerful' mod tool to rival LittleBigPlanet 2?

RedLynx released an amazing trailer for Trials Evolution this week that reveals some of the ridiculously cool stuff you can do with the new editor tools, and you may be surprised.

Trials Evolution Screenshot
Seemingly aiming to give Xbox fans an answer to LittleBigPlanet, the footage shows off the "crazy powerful" editor capable of doing everything from bike racing to pinball and even a first-person shooter. Seriously.

It also shows off an awesome-looking new survival mode, real-time multiplayer and lots of other sweet-as-f*** stuff.

And it pins the game for a spring release. Hurry along, RedLynx. We need this is our lives.

The thing I found with Trials HD is it was so addictive it really got you by the nuts, start playing at 9pm and before you know it it is 3am, you're at work in 4 hours and you still want to have another go, a superb blend of playability, difficulty, physics and presentation.

Firstly can i saw WOW. How good does this look, everything just looks so much better, its faster its definately smoother and the graphics whore in me likes the look of it.

    Now. The editor....

Heres hoping this system is in practice a hell of a lot more FUN and LESS FRUSTRATING to use than that of Little Big planet 2, I am happily the only person i know that hates that game with a passion, i cannot tell you how annoyed i was at the stupid use of logic gates on circuit boards in order to change the style of game or movement of characters in the user create level design part of this shoddy sequel.

How on earth templates were not used to sidestep this insanely stupid and on face value simple yet in practice complicated as hell system still astounds me today, the programmers themselves didnt use these things for most of their own in house stuff so why expect us to have to put up with it.before anyone on here decides to hang me from a tree i would like to point out that LBP 1 was amazing, the editor although extremely limited was a joy to use and my 7 levels created on it gained over 500,000 plays and gained very good reviews, my RAINBOW ISLANDS remake was very cool if i say so myself lol lol lol so im not hating on the franchise, just the rubbish sequel, the vita one is gonna be twice as bad, imagine trying to do delicate things with a touch screen....... NO, just NO

LBP 2 was a disaster as far as the editor was concerned i totally gave up on it after less than a month, it was powerfull yet completely un-friendly, it just seemed as if it was there to p**s you off, even though there are over 6 million levels on there now less than 100 are actually worth playing, the rest are just the same old crap people got booed about on the first one, only this time with slightly more movement control.

So please CVG when you review this please take into account on the editor side of things that flashy voice overs from washed up actors who tweet a little too much dont really cut it for a lot of us, what we want to know is if its actually fun and not a chore to use, who cares if what you can get out of it is great if its not actually good to use in the first place.

As for the game Trials Evolution itself, it looks great, the physics seem to be a hell of a lot tighter and for me its absolutely on my want list, just a shame im going to have to use a 360 controller to do stuff. When will microsoft allow mice to be used as a control interface for the console......... Morons! same as Sony, find me a games desinger that uses a controller as a design input and i will pay his/her wages for a year, you can't they all use mice or touch tablets with ultra responsive pens.

Those 6,000,000 levels are shared between both LBP games, with at very least 4m coming from LBP.

I would happily pay £40 for this game. Been waiting a long time for this. :D

Remember the only mention of LBP comes from CVG, neither Red Lynx or fans of Trials give two hoots about it I would imagine.

I'd second that. Never played LBP and really not that bothered about it either. I think the only (tenuous) connection that can be made with this and LBP is the fact you can create your own levels. Everything else is completely different.

I'm really, really looking forward to this. Actually playing Trials HD again (still a few levels I never managed the first time around) just to get back into the groove. Love the fact that you'll be able to download tracks from everyone, rather than being limited to friends creations like on Trials HD.

This has beaten other xbox exculsives by miles to be my most envious of not-having-the-right-console-to-play game of the year

If there is one game that could have been pushed to sell xbox, it was Trials HD. Not Halo and not Gears. They both have clones on PS.
Now we have Evolution. Quite possibly the best looking sequel (in terms of diversity from the original) and a perfect example of how a follow up game should be done. This could be a full game release, not just arcade. It has almost infinite replay value. This game could be the wake up call to studios churning out increasing number of clone sequels.

And why would that be? Because Trials wasn't made for/by Sony?

I vote your post in the top ten of most pointless posts for the week.

On topic.... It's looking better and better every time I see new footage, can't wait for Trials Evolution to release so I can get a new fix of Trials greatness.

Looks like a good old school fun. Not much else to say as I only own a PS3 but thought I'd be the bigger man and admit a X-Box game looks like fun.

The idea that the vita version will be terrible simply because the touch screen exists is ridiculous. You realize it has buttons right?
And why the f**k does it matter if developers use mouses or tablets to MAKE games. Mouse and keyboards are not suited for everything and not as comfortable as controllers designed for playing games. Tablets and mice are used for programs designed for tablets and mice.

Why the hell are you going on about Little Big Planet so much? Shut up about it and stop playing it if you hate it so much.

As for the editor in Trials Evolution... you do realise that the ENTIRE GAME was created using a controller and the provided level editor? Just like Trials HD was. A mouse doesn't belong on a games console.
