Microsoft's confirmed Kinect Star Wars and the limited edition 'R2-D2' Xbox 360 will release in the UK on April 3 for £39.99 and £349.99 respectively.
The Xbox 360 exclusive was originally due to be released as part of Microsoft's Christmas 2011 line-up, but it was delayed in order to achieve its "full potential," according to Microsoft.
In addition to the previously announced Jedi, Podracing and Rancor modes, LucasArts has today confirmed new additions to the game, including:
- New experiences within Jedi Destiny Mode, including:
- Space battles: As you travel the Galaxy to face an evil that threatens to undermine the fabric of the Republic, you'll engage with forces of the Empire in intense space battles
- Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders: Pilot iconic Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders on your epic journey
- New duels: Battle opponents like Count Dooku and Darth Vader on your journey to become a Jedi
- New Duels of Fate mode, a battle-by-battle experience to sharpen your Jedi skills against the Dark Side.
- New Galactic Dance Off mode loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor or bust a move "Solo style."
Yes, you read that correctly - Galactic Dance Off mode. Now, let us all erase it from our minds and focus on the sexy Xbox.
The limited edition console bundle also features a C-3PO unlockable for Dance Mode, says Microsoft.

The game could turn out to be a turgid pile, but who wouldn't want that Xbox? That is just pure brilliance!

I'm sooo going to buy this, and a Kinect, just for Galactic Dance Off mode.
It will be the realisation of a dream I've had since I first played Pac-Man on the Atari VCS.
This is the pinnacle of modern gaming right here folks.

As long as dance mode is just a optional bonus game & not a part of the core game then it is not that bad visually the game looks decent to & I am sorely tempted to trade my black 360S for that R2D2 unit just very cool

Nearly £350 for this lol. For that price, I'd of expected two controllers, maybe a HDMI cable and a 500GB hard drive. But for that price, I'd rather wait for a Wii U, not forgetting that the Xbox 360 is coming to the end of its life. The Xbox 720 will be announced at the end of this year, 2013 defo.

The console itself looks kinda cool but at the same time plastic and tacky so im gonna pass on that, the game will be around the 6/7 out of 10 mark when its done and much like rise of nightmares will be less than 15 quid inside 3 months.
The Kinect is one of the best examples of how you can sell something that will never do what it promised by the right sorts of marketing and its a testement to how well microsoft has superbly played a whole generation of gamers. My hats off to them and congrats all round.
The second gen tech of Kinect once its actually a core element of microsofts next console will be very usefull as both a media interface and a control interface for more genres of games, its a lot like motion control for the wii, it was kinda cool to start with then turned out rubbish until motion + came along and then they made the new zelda game.
Its also like the promise of Playstation home, its a fantastic idea that needs more memory to run smoothly and is once simplified down a fantastic way to have a front end for your console, forget gay avatars and pictures on boring static screens, have a simple house that your friends enter when they log in so you can chat to them etc then say look at the tv in your virtual room to access your download network games and bam everyone in the group loads up the gameif they have it and away you go.
Its like the future is so close we can nearly all touch it, not quite there but theres glimpses of what it could be and probably should be right now, anyway thats the future lets all have fun playing whats here now eh?
May the force be with you all.......... Always!

Released in April....this has to be joke right?
This could have been a game that sold the Kinect to the masses (well other than Kinect Sports) but instead you're going to have a load of people loading up Princess Leia in the Gold Bikini for a Galactic Dance Off for all the wrong reasons.
The solid white Kinect looks pretty sexy though, that would blend in quite nicely with my white Ikea shelves!

The console looks like the kinda thing that you'd be embarrassed to own a short couple of months later.
And it's overpriced to boot.
The game itself... hmm, well, I just don't see it working out to be honest. The fact that they've added in "Galactic Dance Mode" to compensate says it all really...

If this is the game demoed on Playr a couple of weeks ago the controls look awful for it. The guy playing ran into a wall numerous times and looked to be controlling the action on screen worst than any none gamer I have seen picking up a controller for the first time.
Also the console looks horrible, I fail to understand why people spend all this money on a "fancy" looking system when it does exactly the same as a standard much cheaper box. Its even more confusing that people spend money to buy a special system when they already own a standard console.
