Modern Warfare 3 'Overwatch' map drops Feb 21 - screens

Another map headed for Xbox Premium Elite members

Xbox 360 players signed up to Call of Duty Elite will get another new Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer map - Overwatch - on February 21.

That's even before PS3 Elite Premium subs get last month's maps, Liberation and Piazza, which won't arrive until February 28. Infinity Ward has offered no release date for Overwatch for PS3 Elite Premiums.

"Overwatch drops you into a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper. The battle takes place along two levels in a near symmetrical layout, with the central bridge and side routes open to attack from multiple angles," says IW.

Oh dear, that sucks for PS3 owners who bought the Elite. Some way to show your appreciation for their commitment.

I don't understand why PS3 owners still buy CoD games, I really don't. If we all just agree (or at least a good percentage of us) to not buy the next CoD, we'd be treated equally thereafter. You'd only miss it for a year, how bad can it be! At least don't get the god damn Elite subscription!

Hmmm looks like MW2's Highrise mixed with MW3's Hardhat *spits*

don't affect me anymore, i got a refund for elite, sold mw3 and therefore will not be buying any more from them. to be honest, i bought uncharted 3 and little big planet 2 mostly with the money i got from selling mw3 and i'm more than happy i tore myself away from cod, they're both such better gaming experiences than cod, both online and offline. it really opened my eyes to how much gaming has moved on and how dated / samey cod has been for the last 4 years.

give up the addiction people, you'll discover some amazing games that don't have "call of duty" in the title

You actually got a refund? Well done, and LBP2 is a great choice, the game that keeps on giving.

    Did they quibble at all?

Always been a fan of COD but with this new Elite business I think Activision are pi**ing off the last of us willing to defend them. So as a fan of the series, who has bought every game along with some DLC (and enjoyed them immensely), you're now telling me I can't buy new maps until yet another exclusive period has passed for the Elite crowd? Well guess what? I won't be buying it at all out of principle.

I thought we was getting a mp map and a s**t Ops one? I don't play it but if they said it and I've paid for it I want it.

COD nowadays is a massive cash cow and quite frankly s**t, and I feel sorry for those PS3 guys who bought Elite, its very disrespectful of releasing stuff a lot later than on XBOX 360, but MS have paid big money for first refusal, and if Activision did care they would turn down that money and keep everyone on a equal playing field, but no they are just money grabbing bastards and they don't give a s**t about the user base anymore.

PS3/4 needs an exclusive FPS with first rights above everyone else, maybe the title from Respawn?

Hopefully Ken can get development in house in order for the next gen.

Cool - another new map! Disappointed its only 1 and we only get 12!!! At least it will add to the Elite play list. Annoyed that there isn't more play modes for these maps and also the lack of plying 'Survival' mode with them too (I thought they would ALL be available for 'Survival' mode)

It does remind me a bit of 'High Rise'. Unfortunately the screen shots do not give much away as to the overall size and layout so difficult to see how it will play. 'Piazza' and 'Liberation' are 2 very different maps and favour a different style of play so will be interesting to see where this map fits in with those 2. I am glad that it is an 'ALL NEW' map too as I can play all the other maps on previous titles

Well it's nice to see COD has finally lost it's love-to-hate fanboys, wait................. no, sorry they are still here.

    Like a broken record.

Map should be cool though it does look a bit HighRisey

I've bought every CoD since the very first in 2003. I've had multiple CoDs on different formats, (every CoD and expansion on PC, and CoDs 2, Big Red One, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 on PS2/3) and MW3 is the last CoD I will be buying, unless there's a drastic ground-up change. I don't anticipate this happening, and would really like to move on from the as-expected, mind-numbing gameplay of CoD that /doesn't/ blow me away. Nothing fundamentally has changed since CoD4 apart from tweaking and maps.

PS3 will probably get this a month later as usual. I'm not playing the game as much now, it needs the new maps to reinvigorate my interest. I have the MGS HD collection taking up my time right now anyway, completing those takes a while and that's not including the trophy hunting either.
