Sony has reportedly revealed a cart racing game in the LittleBigPlanet franchise to attendees of a Destination PlayStation event today.

Further details are scant, but it did also note that the game will be 3D compatible, and will come with a 'Move-compatible wheel' peripheral of some sort (thanks Joystiq).
It was the inevitable next step, wasn't it?

That's probably what the Sony executive said right before telling Media Molecule to get on with it.

Still looking to top Mario Kart. It really cannot be that hard can it? At least be a rival. I guess you would have to copy to get near.

good, it was crap! i think the team behind LBP are much more capable of making a decent karting game! quite looking forward to this, i'm a huge fan of the LBP games and mario kart, and apart from SONIC & SEGA All Stars Racing, there's really no decent clones on mario kart on ps3. so bring it on media molecule! (if it's MM making it)

Well I enjoyed it, hence my comment.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a collaboration between Modnation dev's and MM.
So I wouldn't cry just yet.

MNR is my favourite PS3 exclusive, but I don't really care which name is on the game. Although I'm not sure why MM would be assumed to be better than the MNR developers at a karting game, seeing as they have no form in the genre. And although the creation tools in LBP are great, I don't think MM got the controls right at all and a karting game with s**t controls is next to pointless.
It does seem a little bit like copying Nintendo, but they did it with Crash, so why not?
