Stereoscopy fans will be able to delve into BioShock Infinite donning their favourite flickering specs.

Developer has reportedly revealed that the latest BioShock quest will be compatible with stereoscopic 3D effects on PS3.

Word comes from US retailer Future Shop Gamer, who's been Tweeting details this afternoon from the currently underway Destination PlayStation event in Arizona, US.

The developer apparently offered no word on the game's release date, however, so you'll just have to wait.

2K late last year shot down rumours that the developer was creating a special peripheral for the Move controller specifically for use with BioShock Infinite.

Oh goodie. I've been coming to the conclusion my 3d tv is a bit of a lemon. Granted I needed a new tv so I jumped in and got one. The thing is; there is naff all content. Or content worth the price of admission. Many of the movies are clearly adapted versions of the 2d version. The best are the Pixar animations. Now I do enjoy their works but not enough to justify paying for a new tv.

So the saving grace is video games. Well... erm... no. Not really. GT5 looks OK in 3d, Killzone was an experience but online you were at a massive disadvantage with the lost resolution. Uncharted was pretty decent in 3d. So how will Bioshock stack up??

I bloody hope they pull it off.
