Vodafone offers free WipEout 2048 with 3G Vita

And a free 4GB memory stick

Mobile company Vodafone is offering a free copy of WipEout 2048 to UK customers who purchase a special 3G Vita bundle through one of its stores.

The £279 bundle comes with a free 4GB memory stick, and users will be sent a free code to download WipEout 2048 after their first top up of £5.

The bundle will only be available via Vodafone stores.

Vodafone is Sony's 'preferred' service provider for UK 3G Vitas, while AT&T - who has recently reshuffled its Vita price plans - steps up for duty in US.

Does anyone even know somebody who is on Vodaphone in the UK?????? Seriously whats next Nokia re launch the 3210 with changeable face covers.

How on earth is this the preferred provider who does the decision making at Sony, do they just roll dice now???

all these deals going on, its not going too well in the US as hardly anyone has pre ordered it, sony are knocking out a new pack. but no matter what, its way too expensive. i put a bet on today that there will be a price drop before the year is out, i got decent odds. vita should be under £150, built in memory, games at under £20.

I was thinking the same thing as you. But I'm fully clued up now and tried the VITA out and totally love the device, I think £230 for it is a great price as well. But memory cards are a rip off and I agree, games should be £20 max.

    Ha ha! WipEout...

Also. Does the 3G require a monthly plan or is a pay as you go setup?

I think it's a pay as you go deal. Think it's 3gb of data for 15 quid a month

Yea i would think preorders are low. Sony haven't really started the marketing campaign. They say they are waiting till launch. Which is an odd strategy to me.

Wipeout is a nice choice by Vodafone as the free game. I was going to preorder Amazon's Vita bundle, but the best title they have available for their bundle is Rayman Origins. Still considering it though...

Where I live (Western United States) a lot of places are actually sold out of Vita pre-orders, including the 3G models. I personally don't care to pay for 3G, but apparently some people are.

lol they're pretty much the most popular individual Network in the UK, so yeah, I guess most people know someone on Vodafone.

Hey Sony, release this on the PS3 will ya? I love WipeOut. Though it needs more Bob Monkhouse.

    A £5 top-up will give you 250MB lasting for 30 days.

Seems strange that Vodafone themselves to internet dongles at £3 a month for 250MB (after an one off £19 payment).

So why is the Vita data allowance more expensive??

Pre-order from amazon and for £235 you get a an 8gb memory card and a choice of a few games lumines and rayman been the pick of the bunch (wi-fi version)

don' worry they will. If you look at some of the trailers, they mention cross play options which means that we'll get it for PSN...ups excuse me... i meant SEN, who cares. once it has come out.

    WTF?

I'm on Vodafone (not that that matters), and they had a 25% share of the market revenue in 2011! so I would say quite a lot of people are on Vodafone :?

It's cross play with the PS3 game Wipeout HD. They need Vita exclusive games to sell the console. Few people would buy a Vita if all Vita games were also on PS3.

@kippsynamite,that's a daft idea isn't it,I mean if it's cross gane with wipeout hd aren't you basically buying the same game again and wipeout hd is about 4/5 years old I think.i know it's got new tracks but surely SEN will be getting a new wipeout game aswell to play alongside this release.

I'm not saying your wrong by the way but if what you're saying is true then that's a bit of a f**k up on sonys part.

You buy one copy of Wipeout 2048 from the store and it can be used on both the ps3 and vita with cross console gameplay enabled.

Fking £40 per game is a joke, no wonder it's not being bought. I'll buy it when games are £20 and the system itself about £150 or less.

That's like Motorstorm RC then, wonder how much it will be on the store as that's a day 1 for me even though I won't be buying a VITA.
