Grand Slam Tennis 2 screens served

New shots of EA's stick-swinging tennis sim

EA has fired off new screenshots of Grand Slam Tennis 2 just ahead of its launch this week.

Similar to the likes of EA's Skate games, the 360/PS3 title uses a combination of gestures and flicks on the right analogue stick to determine your shot direction, power and distance.

Announced back in August and set for release on February 10, 2012, Grand Slam Tennis 2 will also offer Move support on PS3.

Check out a gameplay trailer over here.

Where's the review? The games out tomorrow and so far all i've saw is a review on Gamespot which just bitched about a lack of venues and female players and rated it 6.5 because of this only. Read the review, they go on about lack of courts and tournaments, there's a small paragraph about the serving and hardly any about how the controls work. Sorry but this is a tennis game, all the venues look nearly the same with the biggest difference you'll see being the courts colour/surface. As long as this has 3 different types of surface then thats fine, as for the lack of tournaments it has all 4 grand slams, the first game to do so, and some of the minors. Thats all i need, i always got so bored playing Virtua Tennis's career mode playing s**tty tournament after tournament and only moving up one or 2 places in the rankings..

So CVG what i want to see in your review is a good section describing how good the controls work and which control scheme works better. You know, the real details, how a game actually plays. If it can tighten up the controls from the demo a wee bit then its the best tennis game around in my opinion.
