'Call of Duty Elite 2.0' in development for new CoD

Major Elite relaunch planned for the ninth Call of Duty shooter

2012's new Call of Duty will be joined by the launch of Call of Duty Elite 2.0, Activision has confirmed today.

"We're already hard at work on Elite 2.0, with several innovative features being developed to work hand-in-hand with our new Call of Duty release," revealed the publisher during an earnings call moments ago.

Without going into further specifics, it sounds like Activision is planning a major relaunch of the subscription service in conjunction with the new CoD title, expected our this November.

Activision also revealed plans to launch "additional features in the next 60 days" for the current Elite platform.

In the same call, the publisher said the next Call of Duty game is "already looking fantastic".

    And the funny part is Xbox users will still get content before PS3 users cause its in the contract till the end of 2012.

    stll i'm sure elite 2 will give them ample opportunity to screw collectors out of the chance to get a decent limited / hardened / prestige edition as half of the cost will be taken up with a crappy piece of paper with a code on it just like mw3, i'm just thankful that i waited and due to poor sales of the hardened edition (since it offered pretty much f*ck all over the standard version except the cod elite sub) i was able to pick up a brand new and sealed copy of the hardened edition for the same price as a standard edition on xmas eve.

    I regret the day I paid for Elite on PS3. I was fully aware that Xbox were to get the maps early but it took the pi$$ to find out that Xbox will get a 3rd map before the PS3 get the first 2. The competitions are full of cheaters who boost to get to the top of the leader boards and win the prizes and for all the tough talk from IW they still get away with it week after week. Only 2012 to put up with this crap then Respawn Entertainments first game comes out and we can all rejoice......hopefully!!
