Sony's confirmed the leaked LittleBigPlanet Karting images from earlier in the week are indeed real.
Retailer Future Shop tweeted images of the unannounced PS3 racer - and then removed them - earlier this week, claiming they were showcased at a Destination PlayStation event in the US.
The title is apparently in development for PlayStation 3 (not Vita), with ModNation studio United Front Games rumoured to be at the helm - although that's not confirmed.
Further details are scant, but the shop did also note that the game will be 3D compatible, and will come with a 'Move-compatible wheel' peripheral of some sort.

I can only assume Modnation Racers didn't sell well enough, so rather than Sony think "we guess this market isn't big enough, let's move onto something else" they think "it didn't sell well enough because it didn't have the LBP brand, let's try again!"

I'd prefer it if MM were doing it, but at the same time I'm in the love LBP and Kart Racers camp so this is great news. If they can get some tricky tracks in that use the physics side of LBP to reward better drivers then this could be amazing.
