Dirt 3: Complete Edition arrives next month

Hefty package bundles DLC in for just £30

Codemasters will release a Dirt 3: Complete Edition on March 9 for PS3, 360 and PC.

The updated re-release will contain the full game and over 20 quid's worth of download content, including 12 new routes across two locations, new cars and a range of liveries.

And the whole lot will only set you back £30, so it's a sweet deal if you've not got the game already.

Here's the full list of content:

DiRT 3 Complete Edition extends the game with:

- The Monte Carlo Rally Pack - eight breathtaking Rally stages featuring dramatic climbs, descents and hairpins of snowy mountain roads. Race through the Alps and conquer the legendary Col de Turini pass.

- The X Games Asia Track Pack - four new routes set across two new tracks in Shibuya, the neon heart of central Tokyo, where spectacular mud-spattered Rallycross circuits weave beneath towering skyscrapers.

- The Power and Glory Car Pack - stars five cars including the BMW M3 Rally, Lancia Delta S4, Ford Focus ST Rallycross, Scion tC and Chevrolet Camaro SSX Concept, each with a range of liveries.

- The Mud and Guts Car Pack - features five cars available for single-player, split-screen and online multiplayer events. Race the Lancia Stratos, Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2, Citroën C4 Rallycross, Saturn Sky and Ford Mustang GT, each with a range of liveries.

- The Colin McRae Vision Charity Pack - access the Ford Escort Mk II, a 70s rally classic with five liveries.

- The Ken Block Special Pack - features a customised and upgraded Ford Escort Mk II, an Open Class Rally car sporting a killer Ken Block livery.

- The Mini Gymkhana Special Pack - access the mid-engined Mini Cooper S Gymkhana, customised and tuned to become an outrageously responsive Gymkhana car.

liked dirt 1, loved dirt 2 felt bored with dirt 3 and have not played it to conclusion. I also hate gymkhana which now dominates the game. this new DLC game seems a bad idea, it would have been a better idea to have dirt 4 just be pure rally and the gymkhana events the new DLC game.

so when it came out it wasn't complete?

    It's typical of games today:

    1. make game,
    2. remove parts of game,
    3. sell incomplete game at full price,
    4. sell the missing parts as DLC,
    5. profit
    ...
    6. release 'Complete Edition' months later

Exactly,to be honest it was quite boring anyway and I personally won't buy another Dirt title unless its 100% traditional rally.

Agreed with both of you. They are making the next Dirt some stupid stunts type game like the Gymkhana parts of Dirt 3 (the worst parts of the game imo, I stopped playing the game when I was forced to do doughnuts!)

They seriously need to get back to the core gameplay, you know the actual rallying!!

If gamers want a return to real rallying then I'd recommend the recent offical WRC games. There not very pretty but the actual rallying is quite good and online is as it should be with leaders changing over sectors in traditional events.I bet you could pick the first one up for £5 or the latest version is £15.

It's the closest we'll get to a dedicated rally game this gen on console I'd say.

DiRT 3's day-one DLC really rubbed me up the wrong way - I go out and buy their game for £40, then when selecting events from the menu, half of them are "locked out" but ready for me to pay for and download them.

It's pretty disgusting, I'm all for DLC if it's clearly been worked on/produced after the games release as additional content for those who crave more, but they had literally cut stuff from the finished game to re-sell to day one customers. What happened to rewarding early adopters and your core customers?

Lesson learned; don't buy another Codies game until six months down the line, then you can get a 'complete edition' for half the price.

Exactly. I'm not against DLC either, as long as like you say, it's properly produced and not just crap they locked out of the original game.

The guys that paid full price for this game (£30-40) and then paid for the DLC (£20) have now been shafted by Codies releasing the lot for just 30 notes.

I actually like the Gymkhana and drifting trials. I'm a casual player on this game playing it on easy mode for now but the amount of content seems fair in the game as it does tend to drag out tbh. What they should do is on release a complete edition with full dlc and normal edition without dlc for cheaper but make so that the complete edition makes a saving for the first 6 months as to opposing getting the dlc separately.

Good job we have WRC for all the Gymkhana haters  , evil Codemasters for widening the player base, who'd have thought it trying to bring in that tiny American market

It's a great game so quit whining.... or play something else.

dirt 3 was the worst. the other two were great content wise.

3 was a bore and a grind. 8 laps of a one-minute long track was mind numbing.

didn't get the rave reviews, most people forgot about it within a week.

So only post if its positive regarding Dirt3?

I can't blame them for widening their fanbase but at the same time they've alienated their original fanbase, so have sales dramatically improved enough to justify these new average modes?

How have they alienated their fan base, I played a lot of Dirt 3 and it has tons of rallying in it still, yes there are other modes that 'get in the way' (Baja racing I'm looking at you) but that doesn't make it a crap game as some people state.

Compared to the fans that have been with Dirt since it was called Colin McRae Rally and then changed to Dirt they have alienated their core fanbase.Dirt had lots of rally events and terrible truck events but Dort 3 doesn't in comparison.

Look you like it,I thought it was ok in parts and others don't,why care if you see satisfied with the final product is all I'm saying.

Cool and in a way we are arguing the same thing, I'd love a rally game by Codemasters that is 100% point to point rallying. However there is either too small a market or no budget for such a game (unlike F1 which is far more popular as a sport) and they have needed to pull in other game mode fans. Basically a sizeable chunk of rallying for me is better than not at all (and WRC is poo IMO)
