Rockstar has said we can expect to hear more about Grand Theft Auto 5 in a few months time.

"Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses - expect that we'll be talking much more about GTAV starting at some point in a few months' time."
Last week Take-Two told investors in a financials call that development of Grand Theft Auto V is "making great progress", however it didn't provide a window of release.
National Alliance Capital Markets analysts have said they expect GTA V to launch in May 2012, into the Company's 2013 fiscal second-half operating period.

Haha. Like I'm going to sit around patiently awaiting for a few vague details to be released in a few months time. I have a few battles against Crustacean-looking-alien-robot-creatures, some love scenes to enact with blue and human females (maybe even frog-like?) and a shop on a giant space-stationy-thingey just begging for a new sponsor. And hopefully, pew pew sounds!

well gta4 was my personal biggest let-down of a game ever. i've loved them since gta1 on the commodore amiga, right up until san andreas.
i waited 'til it came out and got a ps3. got it home, new shiny console, new GTA... and it was crap. it was technically not even as good as san andreas on ps3 (pedestrians don't spawn as far away, especially noticable if on a building with a sniper rifle for example). the world size just had nothing like the scope of the generation before's. i was totally bored of all the characters from the story after 2 days, and there was next to nothing to do outside the story.
so to that end, i'll hire gta5 before buying it this time, even though it does appear to be (half) a remake of my fav ever gta.
if you let me down again, i'll cry

I loved the graphics and vehicle handling engine( I know i'm one of the few) but being trapped in the one city really dampened it for me. It was good to play through the stroy but once you came to free roaming, there was little to do. I mean at least with SA you could bomb down a rural freeway or fly a jumbo around but in IV you had none of these options.
Mind you, V looks appealing now that rural areas and the chance of planes are making their return.

I Loved GTA IV and am sure I will love 5 too, and I have plenty to do until it comes out, but seriously, why did they even bother announcing the game if they're not going to announce anything else about it for around 5+ months. They never did it with any GTA game before (correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not sure about the early games, just 3 - IV) so why do it now?

Same here. GTA 4 was my first PS3 game and I was impressed for a while because of the shiny graphics but once I finished the story there was nothing to do. Guess what I did next ? I hooked the PS2 back and played Vice City and SA which are better in every way possible.
I'm hoping Rockstar get it together with GTA 5 and blow the roof off.

After San Andreas, GTA4 was a mega-disappointment... i even tried to get back into it a couple of times but just felt like everything was a chore.
The new trailer looked like it had a little of the 'old' GTA magic back, but I can;t understand why they released the trailer so early and then go 'dark' for a 'few months'...
Well, I guess it could be worse... *cough*Agent*cough*

Typical Rockstar with their GTA, love to hype the crap out of it with the smallest details possible. I remember when I used to be on the same boat, trying to find any little info on GTA 4 as possible, and present theories about it, rant about it. A lot of precious time was wasted that I never get back. That was then. Now I'm just going to be busy with my life a lot more, and play games like ME3, Skyrim, and Max Payne 3 lol. Not riding your hype train anymore Rockstar, your teases are getting old now.

The only thing i didn't like about GTA4 was your friends phoning you up and being needy,so you had to keep turning your phone off everytime, instead of just telling the person to get his s**t together and go f**king bowling with someone else
this interests me from that Max Payne 3 Q and A
bigger than GTA SA and Red Dead ?
Emu76 on 14 Feb '12 said:
Ha! Like hell will it launch in May, expect at least 6 months worth of hype before it lands. November 2012 at the earliest, probably early 2013. Sad but, there's plenty to play in the meantime

I've got the itch to play IV again... that game is just fun. Aside from a few wonky mission, most of the time any GTA is just plain fun. I'm not getting my hopes up for V until the second real release date is revealed.

As much as I love Saints Row 3, I thought I would of never said that I miss GTA IV's Vehicle Engine, Saints Row 3 Vehicle Engine was a joke but it was still good like L.A Noire, do fast 90 degree turns without hitting the brakes etc.
Old Skool Gamer on 14 Feb '12 said:
GTA IV was a good game, but boring at the end just like Skyrim, and I also played the DLC on disc when it was dirt cheap which gave me some gaming time.
Let's all hope GTA 5 is massive, and there should not be any reason why a 50GB disc could not be filled, but the only problem is what happens to the 360 / PC owners, maybe 4-5 discs.

Well, I must be too much of an Old Timer as GTA IV has been one of the stand out titles this Gen and I cant wait to see what R* North do with GTA V.
Only thing is, this news pretty much confirms a 2013 release. Damn!

I think they had plans to do more with this sooner, but the delay to stupid Max Payne 3 has scuppered those plans. I doubt they'd have released the premier video so long ago if this wasn't the case.
I'm not interested in Max Payne Rockstar, I want more information on GTA. Or at least a rough estimate of when it'll be released.
I reckon it'll be out in March 2013 now, as Take 2 are also releasing Bioshock towards the end of the year and I doubt they'll want GTA released anywhere near that either. I'm also not interested in that.
GTA INFO NNAAOOOOOWWWW!!!

I loved GTAIV, it was my first game on my 360 and I still love it. I still pop back to Liberty City every now and then. In fact I'm a bit gutted that I haven't renewed by XBL Gold as I did love the MP sometimes.
It makes me laugh that R* get bashed of hyping it up by not releasing information though! This is a business after all - I'd rather something be shown and purposefully left ambiguous to create a little bit of excitement amongst gamers than have Mr Developer Mouth Piece constantly blabbing on about it and slagging off the opposition.
And I'm pretty sure GTA1 didn't come out on the Amiga, it was PC first. It's certainly where I first played it.

IV was a beast. going back to the old games after it really shows them up for how simple they are. the physics for example are laughable. and the shooting is a disgrace. that's not to say they could be improved in IV.
the shooting in V should hopefully be lifted from red dead, or max payne 3. or a bit of both. and the driving mechanics need tightened up too. i feel V will right all of IV's wrongs.
after all, how s**t is GTAIII compared to san andreas or vice city?
it's a pain waiting for these games, but better that than low quality. i hope they go much deeper for completionists. 200 pigeons wasn't enough. plus they were like an afterthought. san-an's graffiti tags were well integrated and felt much more worthwhile. completing these tasks gives you a fantastic chance to see the city and you are constantly surprised with the hundreds of neat little things tucked away in the game.
looking forward to planes again. they were sorely missed in IV. choppers are really boring.
and something to do in the city after completion is very important. something infinite, maybe online community based (not multiplayer) most people want to buy up property not get it handed to you. but there has to be something to put that property to good use. not just empty houses - interconnected business's etc.
Black Mantis on 14 Feb '12 said:
Agreed. It was cool that a lot of the tags were in enemy territory, resulting in plenty of shoot-outs. As GTA V is based on LA, I really hope they bring back the different gangs and base the conflicts around building a drug empire.
humanhand on 14 Feb '12 said:
I agree completely!
Houdini Splicer on 14 Feb '12 said:
I always find it easier just to roam around when I know I have missions to fall back on, hopefully in V there will be more to do after the game is completed, like the assassination missions in IV, but more of them.
As for driving, I find IV to be waaaaay better than some other games, imo LA Noire should have had driving mechanics similar to IV or mafia 2. One thing that does annoy me however is the fact that AI traffic in IV acts as if your not there or are a permanent obstruction, if you stop, say, at a traffic light, then they all try to drive around you, but if your driving super fast down the road they do nothing to avoid a collision and sometimes will even decide to change lane as your about to go past them.

Don't understand when people say GTA5 was a big let down for them. It wasn't broken, it played nicely, the visuals were stunning at the time and the characters played their parts. The story was depressing, but after all the s**t that went down, I doubt any of us expected to ride off into the sunset on a motorbike with billions of dollars. I had no problems with GTA4, it really baffles me when I see people putting it down completely and calling it crap.

YEE-HAWW!
That has been one of my favourite GTA stations ever, just behind Emotion 98.3, with Amos Moses being my favourite song from the station.
I also hope they bring back Fernando Martinez (Frank Chavez), he was really missed in San Andreas only having a wee 5 minute slot once you'd opened up the full map and completely lacking in GTA 4. I know he came back for the 80's station in the Episodes from Liberty City disc release but i'd gotten them as DLC from which he was absent.
Black Mantis on 14 Feb '12 said:
I think they may have included that for the dlc now, despite their original "licensing issues" reason. I remember playing it last year and hearing new stuff on the radio.
ensabahnur on 14 Feb '12 said:
Hmm do you think i'll have to delete them then redownload? Haven't been back to TLatD or TBoGT since i finished them a few years back. In fact are you sure, it should be 3 whole new stations called Vice City FM, RamJam FM and Self-Actualization FM.
EDIT: No i don't think they've been added to the DLC, it looks like they're still a disc based exclusive.

IV was very unspectacular in terms of story and missions; however the whole thing was built with commitment.
I must have spent more time on Deal Breaker alone than on BFBC2 multiplayer. The biggest shame was the insane bug in the middle of Bomb da Base II.

Big teases.. I hope they introduce fun elements like in BOGT, like driving a golf cart again in a chase scene, more colourful moments like that to reintroduce the old GTA humour. It's all pretty bland in GTAIV, I liked it but it moved too far away from its roots IMO.
