The new game will feature traditional Angry Birds gameplay with added social and competitive elements, new power-ups and Facebook-exclusive levels. Here are all the details:

Compete with your friends
With the brand-new social features for Angry Birds on Facebook, fans can compete with their friends, brag about their scores, and earn coveted gold, silver, and bronze crowns for the top three scores in any level. Fans can also give their Facebook friends "mystery gifts" of power-ups.

Amazing power-ups
In addition to the Mighty Eagle, Angry Birds on Facebook has great new power-ups to help pop even the peskiest piggy. Fans can earn power-ups by playing the game, receiving them as a "mystery gift" from a friend, or purchasing them. To begin, there are four amazing power-ups available:

  • Sling Scope - Looking for the perfect shot? Use Sling Scope laser targeting for pinpoint precision!
  • King Sling - Fling your birds with style AND speed. Upgrade to the almighty King Sling for maximum power and velocity!
  • Super Seeds - Supersize your bird! Super Seeds turn any bird into a pig-popping giant.
  • Birdquake - Rattle the battle! Use the Birdquake to bring pigs' defenses crashing to the ground!

"This launch is just the beginning for Angry Birds on Facebook," said Petri Järvilehto, senior vice president of game publishing at Rovio. "We have great new features and gameplay lined up for the fans in the upcoming weeks. Angry Birds on Facebook will offer a unique experience for our fans, and we're really excited to finally be on the platform."

Angry Birds hit 500 million total downloads in November last year, and enjoyed a further 6.5 million on Christmas Day alone.
