Assassin's Creed 3, Splinter Cell: Retribution reports 'inaccurate' - Ubisoft

Publisher "thrilled and kind of amused" by supposedly leaked release schedule

Ubisoft has denied the accuracy of a supposedly leaked 2012 release schedule featuring unannounced titles like Assassin's Creed 3 and Splinter Cell: Retribution.

The alleged release line-up also suggested new Brothers in Arms, Prince of Persia and Just Dance games are set to launch this year.

However, Ubisoft said in a statement issued to MCV: "We're thrilled and kind of amused to see this line-up news. It shows that players are anxious to hear about Ubisoft's upcoming releases. This reported line-up is inaccurate.

"We guarantee you that you'll hear directly from us soon about the amazing variety of games Ubisoft has slated for fiscal year 2012-13," it added.

We didn't expect anything but a denial of the release schedule's accuracy from the publisher, but we're still not convinced it's being completely honest with us.

CVG was recently informed that Assassin's Creed 3 is set to feature a new protagonist and switch setting to the American Revolution. A source close to the project told us the game's due to be publicly showcased before the end of the company's fiscal year on March 31 and released later this year.
