Microsoft is in the process of rolling out a mandatory Xbox Live update to address colour issues that impacted the quality of video playback following December's launch of the Metro Xbox 360 dashboard.

"In this update, we are providing a fix to a colour issue that some were experiencing, and it will be immediately notable in the dashboard. The fix is also being applied by partners to their apps on Xbox Live, which we expect to roll out over the coming months."
Microsoft acknowledged the issue last month, long after it was flagged up by dashboard beta testers. The Metro dashboard reportedly forces video content to run at limited range RGB levels, resulting in washed out colours, with blacks becoming grey.

It didn't take me any time at all. a couple minutes tops.
Also what ms didn't say in the press release is that it also buggers up a hack by making the nand harder to read.

so i timed mine
took about 60 seconds to download, then it restarted the system and then took about another 60 seconds, all in all about 3 minutes at the very most
FWIW-PS3 updates are a little better than they used to be,i updated my PS3 the day before yesterday(i think its the update that was released last week),and it still took quite a while, but as said much better than it used to be
EDIT:okay i just found out there is another PS3 update today,so i timed that as well
Download took 4 minutes,restart system,install took another 5 minutes
take into account that i don't know the sizes of both 360 and PS3 updates
EDIT 2:my Broadband speed is with SKY up to 20mb,but i actually get 12mb

Well it took about 40 mins in total and I have a 34mb connection. It also made my profile unrecognisable and I have to re-download the profile to get it working. First time I have ever had that problem

Has no one been having Disc read issues since the update?
My friends BF3 games have all been having disc read issues, even though the discs are in perfect condition. This has only happened since the update, so watch out everyone.
By the way the update only took me 5 mins even on a bad WiFi signal.
