'Black Ops 2' listed on Amazon

...Before being swiftly pulled, but the internet never forgets

According to reports, a 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' listing popped up on Amazon France this week.

The listing was apparently swiftly yanked back down, but not before French site took a snapshot of it for the CoD masses to salivate over.

This, says GameBlog (thanks Joystiq), has triggered a serious dispute between the site and Activision, who has done the rounds in asking several other sites to remove their respective reports, and cut off GameBlog from ad support, review game mailings and future Activision events for refusing to comply.

Efforts to censor the press can often point to a story's validity. And Black Ops 2 listings aren't particularly surprising, considering there's already been much talk of Treyarch's 2012 follow-up. It's not exactly a major revelation, but it would be the first time that the Treyarch team, previously responsible for World at War and Black Ops, does a direct sequel to its previous game.
