Square Enix has confirmed that the Japanese Dragon Quest X online beta will kick off on February 23 - this Thursday.
The beta, hosted in Japan, will start off with restricted numbers, and more invitations will be issued as the beta progresses. Applications are also still being accepted.
It's being hosted in Japan, but for us Western types it does at least mean a rush of gameplay footage should emerge from participants, which will make a change from Square's relative silence on the title so far.
Dragon Quest X - full title 'Dragon Quest X Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku' - is an online RPG in which players "form parties and co-exist with other players in an online world". Check out what little gameplay footage has been release over here and this official trailer.
