Game Gear games coming to 3DS next month

Shinobi and Sonic Triple Trouble among the titles headed to Virtual Console

Nintendo is bringing Game Gear games to Nintendo 3DS "from March onwards".

The news confirms reports earlier this month, when classifications for Game Gear classics Shinobi and Sonic Triple Trouble turned up on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board's website.

Nintendo hasn't announced specific release plans, but the Game Gear titles will be the first non-Nintendo titles to appear on 3DS, with only classic NES, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles offered to date.

Nintendo originally pledged to release Game Gear Virtual Console titles when the 3DS eShop launched, but better late than never. What would you like to see?
