Guerrilla Games co-founder Arjan Brussee is leaving the Killzone developer to join Dead Space studio Visceral Games.

In an email sent to Guerrilla staff, which was obtained by Control Online (via Edge), Brussee confirmed his departure and thanked his colleagues for their hard work on games including the original Killzone and Shellshock: Nam '67, for "actually realising Killzone 2 after that infamous trailer", and for making Killzone 3 in two years.
"It has been a great ride," he said. "Every year there was something ambitious, new and inspiring to put my energy into. For me, I now want to find a new personal challenge, and who knows where this will take me next."

I do love these announcements. It's not as if he was going to announce he was off to do a "p**s easy" unannounced project.

implying copy and pasting killzone 2 to create killzone 3 wasn't easy.

I hope they keep him as far away from Dead Space 3 as possible. The second one was already way too far into "action shooter" territory for my liking!

"Bigger and better" doesn't have to mean "shootier".

Don't you type of people get enough of your needs? Let us other gamers have a franchise once in a while that doesn't use Michael Bay as inspiration.
