The new Medal of Honor will be subtitled Warfighter and release worldwide this October.

The sequel to the 2010 reboot is again being developed by Danger Close studios and follows the story of Tier 1 Operators, the mag reports.
Giving in to fan demand, multiplayer is also being developed in house at Danger Close, and not by Battlefield house DICE.
EA will release more details at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month. Stay tuned.
[UPDATE: It's official. More details in the coming weeks, says EA.]

Yeah, cos the last game was was SOOOOOOO good

Why is any of that a good thing? Both Medal of Honour's single & multi player were poor.
A dev like 'Danger Close' doesn't have what it takes. I bet they're a well small team and this release will just milk from Black Ops 2. Which is pathetic.

sounds intresting. I enjoyed the single player more than the multiplayer. the multiplayer was a snipe fest the spawn killing was a joke, lets see what they can do given the chance.

good stuff, danger close did a cracking sp in MoH, lets hope they right the wrongs of the multiplayer>>>

Let me guess:
6 hour SP campaign
MP with same amount of maps and 1 extra mode - team deathmatch.
Ability to go prone and fly a jet/helicopter.
Wait... that was BF3 wasn't it?
Oh now I'm confused.

Let's give 'em a second chance then.
The first one was alright, but nothing spectacular. Here's hoping they can pull this one out of the bag.

I quite liked the single player in the last game. Sure it was scruffy, some levels obviously weren't finished and buggy but underneath it had a decent game trying to break out. Hopefully with more dev time they've sorted the issues out.

Frostbite 2 means is going to feel like a 10 year old game that looks like s**t on consoles! I'm Sold

It doesn't need to be "good" or "original", whatever those words mean, in order to sell a significant amount.

I think I'll stick with BF3.

Enjoyed the SP of the last MOH, gamebreaking bugs aside, more of the same would be appreciated, maybe add more variety in missions, let you customise your weapons Crysis style, more Tier 1 missions if they go in that direction again and obviously fix the gamebreaking bugs.

f**king yawn.
i'm so sick and tired of only really being able to find a decent number of players in online games if it's a bloody military shooter.
request for next gen: forget shooters exist. or at least just bloody let cod be the only one. then all the other devs can start giving us the games we really want (deep down, surely?)
Metatasian on 23 Feb '12 said:
Well, BF3 was s**t, maybe this will be better

I liked the last MOH a lot, it had variation in gameplay style (love the sniping and chopper levels) It is perhaps like the Treyarch offerings within the EA military FPS triumverate but this ain't no bad thing and if people can't see the influences of MOH on BF3 then you must be blind. Looking forward to it.
As for the incessant whingeing about shooters, every one is entitled to their opinion so here's mine, shut the hell up and play something else. The genre exists because it has delivered some of the best games this gen; FACT, if you don't like these games tough s**t, millions do. If you don't like it kindly jog on and play some sports games, RPGs, platformers, racing games, puzzle games, fighting games, strategy games, casual games or open world games (yes these all still exist) and quit sounding like a broken f**king record. Of course I'd love to whinge like an old women at RPG's or something but then I'm too busy enjoying the game genres I know I like.
Either that or construct a decent, compelling argument....... god forbid.

Yep, got a card inside my copy of Syndicate which arrived today which stated this. I really enjoyed the most recent Medal Of Honour game (spelt correctly for once in the ENGLISH grammar). It had a good story and was far superior to Cod in just about every way (well in Single Player mode anyway - I don't play Multiplayer). Cannot wait for a sequel.
toaplan on 23 Feb '12 said:
I thought they might be using the Frostbite 2 engine... I hope they will spend their energy on creating a really good single-player campaign. It's not so easy to improve on BF3's multiplayer, but it shouldn't be difficult to make a better single-player campaign.
FixBeatGames on 23 Feb '12 said:
i did give a constructive reason for my hate of shooters this gen. they've taken over. even spilled into other genres and forces fps with 'x game' graphics splashed on it (see resi evil: operation racoon city).
people (me, for example) want to play a more varied game. you know the reason classic or 'retro' games remain so popular? because they're all so varied and different to each other. the main genre back then was platformers. but even most of those managed to feel quite different to each other!
and my constructive argument is; when i want to play say, little big planet 2 or wipeout hd or anything that isn't a shooter, it can often be hard to find a decent amount of people playing to provide the variation that cod's 1,000,000 every night provides.
i know that clearly indicated the public want to play shooters over anything else, but maybe, just maybe, that would change if more devs put more time and money into making something different, or at least defining a different genre this gen.
some amazing stuff HAS come out, but if it's online multiplayer, it suffers from everyone playing bloody cod instead syndrome! rayman, little big planet 2, wipeout hd, gran turismo 5, uncharted 3, dc universe, red dead redemption, they're all great games online, which could've all been better if more people played them!
anyway, people are going to moan. allow it imo

must have
KK-Headcharge78 on 23 Feb '12 said:
Fair enough FixBeat, you provide a refreshing argument. There is indeed nothing worse than going online with a game to find there's no bugger to play with, I'm not sure banning FPS's is the answer, perhaps other genres need to step up their online offering (although I find it's more a case of time than numbers for games, i.e many games dry up online after 6-12 months)
ukdruid on 23 Feb '12 said:
Oh please tell me you arnt serious? everything about MoH was so bad i almost cried, my absolute favorite WW2 games of yesteryear got such a crappy modern reboot, CoD's storys were far more entertaining, the only good thing about the MoH reboot were the sniping missions they actually were fun to do.
I would say let Dice have a crack at MoH 2 but after the diabolically bad BF3 campain i'd have to say no to that to.
FixBeatGames on 23 Feb '12 said:
yeah i think that's what i was trying to get at really. there can be a thousand fps's a year, that's fine, as long as the decent devs don't keep putting such massive majorities of their resources into JUST fps's, we could all be happy!
TheLastDodo on 23 Feb '12 said:
Think I'm tiring on the ol' military FPS now.
Personally I had more fun with Resistance 3, Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm than I did with BF3, MW3 and KK's GOTY Homefront

1) Did you play the same Medal of Honor singleplayer as I did?

Mother of god. You thought the single player was good? Dear lord. I realise it's just a matter of opinion but man, it was friggin awful. I don't know how anyone could like it.

It has a LOT of work to do to get a sale from me, the first game was abysmally poor, dull and boring. I got a refund with a used online pass, presumably because they, Zavvi, felt pity on me for buying it. With any luck the new engine will breathe life into MOH once again.

i enjoyed the first one, sunk hours into multiplayer, single player was ok, could have been better, more whinny people on here saying how they won't get it and having a go at everyone who will.
pathetic

Despite all the "Hype" about the 2010 MoH, it wasn't that good, the graphics were not that great, and it's pacing was way too slow. The controls felt awkward, and the whole game was a buggy mess.

Thoroughly enjoyed the last one, to the extent that I went out of my way to get the platinum trophy. The SP was, IMHO, the best of its type and the only one to make you feel like a normal human being soldier rather than some kind of superhero/James Bond character. The last stand in the shattered house was one of the most affecting levels in any FPS I've played, as was the ending. That it was based on true events made it far more interesting, and tragic, as well.
MP should have had more work on it but it did have some interesting ideas and wasn't nearly as broken as some suggest. DICE just didn't seem to get round to finishing it. guess they had some other project going on...

This, Dangerclose are a bloody good dev.
All i can say is, if your basing that on Medal Of Honour, then your wayyyy off the mark, it was abysmal, i was stupid enough to pre order and it was sent before i could cancel it when i got wind of the £39.99 i just spent on a steaming turd.
I used to love MOH, it had gone down hill anyway in the last few years, but they completely ruined it in my opinion... but everyone deserves a 2nd chance, but i wont be pre ordering this time...no way.....think ill wait for this to be reviewed.
Earthrod on 24 Feb '12 said:
But the most important issue is... Warfighter?!?!
Why not call it "Medal Of Honour: Gunshooter" if they're going for most stupid subtitle ever.

No you spoke for yourself, if you spoke for me then you'd be interested in this.
I guess you didn't play two of the finer games of last year, Bulletstorm & Shadows of the Damned, two new IP's and two EA games.
To become Activision you've got to only put out one game every year.

I only played the SP due to EA's greedy online pass and I respect that they didn't go all michael bay just to impress the usual market but technically, it wasn't that well built for the time period it was released in.
dwhlufc on 24 Feb '12 said:
I felt quite indifferent about the first game once I'd finished it,I played it through on hard and thee was little to no challenge and I'm quite poor when it comes to FPS.I do however respect and enjoyed the fact that they did try to do it a little different, the setpieces were much more believable and quite good but overall the game did scream average especially with an unfinished online side to boot.
I hope they get it right this time and sort out all the issues from the first game, either way it will only be a rental for me this time.

realy liked MOH the single player was brilliant i felt, aspecialy the mission where your a ranger and storm the mountain village then get over run at the end. I felt it got better and better as it went on but then the problem came it ended and i felt i had only played half a game. The multiplayer was fun at first but then people worked out the spawn spots got the motor fire and just smashed you to pieces. Im glad DC are doing the multiplayer side of it this time aswell.
aindriu80 on 24 Feb '12 said:
I think the single player was very logical and very rewarding, I preferred it to other games. The only downfall was moving around could have been a tad smoother and more flexible.
I hope they can get a better mulitplayer, I had real problems getting the fire controller trophy. It seemed a bit simple in terms of cover and manoeuvre.
