Sony has announced it will be releasing the multiplayer component of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 3 as a stand alone download on the PlayStation Network.
The plans were revealed on the latest episode of Sony's Blogcast. While the multiplayer will be available for free, and contain all the maps, progression will be capped at a certain unspecified level.
As a result this means content such as skills and weapons will also be locked away behind the level cap. Players who want to carry on playing beyond the cap can do so by coughing up $14.99 for the full multiplayer experience.
Guerrilla Games recently indefinitely delayed the PSN re-release of the first Killzone title.
