Rejoice! 2K has confirmed that Irrational Games' eagerly-anticipated BioShock: Infinite will be in our hands from October 16 in North America and on October 19 internationally.
The sequel was first announced in August 2010 and has been in development for close to five years.
"After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition," said Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games. "BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on it."
Following its initial reveal, Levine promised BioShock: Infinite will "blow gamers' minds". From what been shown so far, we're inclined to believe him.
Levine has also said he's keeping "large chunks" of BioShock Infinite's story secret from the rest of the development team in order to properly gauge their response to its twists and reveals.
