Doom and Rage developer id Software has responded to the spate of recent Doom 4-related rumours and alleged leaks.
Matthew Hooper, design director at the studio, took to Twitter to respond to messages pointing out similarities between the supposedly leaked screenshots and Rage.
Hooper said the images aren't from Doom 4 and teased fans by saying they'll be very pleased with what they see when the studio officially shows off the game.
@Cpt_Oliver oh I see. Those images have nothing to do with what you're gonna see in Doom4. When we officially show things you'll see awesome— Matthew Hooper (@id_Hooper) February 29, 2012
Rumours also suggested that Doom 4 has been cancelled, but these were shot down by Bethesda's VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines: "DOOM 4 isn't cancelled," he said In a statement. "When we're ready to talk about it and show it off, we'll let everyone know."
Bethesda is also working on an unannounced game for next-generation consoles.
