Valve has sent over word that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be released this summer. Incidentally, a few of us might be disappearing for a while this summer for err... unrelated reasons.
CS: GO is being developed for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, making it the first game in the multiplayer series to be released simultaneously on PC and consoles.
Early reports suggest it will launch with seven maps, including dust, Dust2, Aztec, Nuke, inferno, Italy and Office.
PS3 and PC players will get to enjoy a little cross-platform action too, thanks to the PS3's mouse and keyboard support.
Valve has also chucked us a few new screenshots. There's nothing too exciting in them, other than geared up marines staring into the camera, off into the distance or at burning buildings. Check them out below.
Valve has said it's working with Counter-Strike fans to incorporate popular mod Gun Game into Global Offensive.
