Heavy Rain designer takes over Rainbow Six: Patriots

Ubisoft confirms dev team reshuffle

Ubisoft's confirmed it's shuffled the Rainbow Six: Patriots development team, putting Heavy Rain and Driver: San Francisco designer Jean-Sebastien Decant in the creative director seat.

Speaking to CVG, an Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed former director David Sears is no longer on the project, but didn't comment on reports claiming narrative director Richard Rouse III, lead designer Philippe Therien, and animation director Brent George have also left.

It said in a statement: "The Rainbow 6 Patriots development team is still hard at work to deliver the next instalment of the revered Tom Clancy series and more details on the game will be revealed at a later date."

Jean-Sebastien Decant previously worked as a game designer at Quantic Dream, before moving to Ubisoft Reflections and later Ubisoft Montreal, where he was most recently narrative designer.

The Heavy Rain angle would be a good fit for Patriots' difficult player choices.
