Modern Warfare 3 was the best-selling game in the US in February, according to data from retail tracker the NPD Group.
Activision's shooter, which was the best-selling game of 2011, has now claimed the top spot on the monthly US software chart for four consecutive months following November release.
In February it held off competition from new releases Final Fantasy XIII-2, UFC Undisputed 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, which claimed second, third and fourth places on the chart respectively.
Other new entries included Soul Calibur V at No.6 and Twisted Metal at No.9, while Uncharted: Golden Abyss claimed a top 20 spot based on just four days' worth of sales.
