Mass Effect 3 sells 890,000 copies in the US on day 1

EA sold around 890,000 copies of Mass Effect 3 in the States during the game's first 24 hours of availability.


Speaking at the Wedbush Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference in New York (via VentureBeat), EA CEO John Riccitiello said he was feeling "awfully good" about the launch.

"We anticipated it doing well, so we're happy," said the exec, who also revealed that 40 percent of those who bought the title from GameStop also purchased a download code for Mass Effect 3 DLC: "The tie ratio at the register is the highest in their history", said Riccitiello.
