Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D misses UK top 40

Debuts at No.4 on the 3DS chart

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D appears to have suffered a disappointing launch, missing out on a place in the latest UK all formats top 40 chart, which features seven older 3DS games.

Konami's title entered the 3DS chart in fourth place behind Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Its performance is perhaps surprising given that it has received decent review scores. Snake Eater 3D currently has an 80 Metascore based on 24 reviews, including an Edge 8/10.

Mass Effect 3 debuted at No.1 on the all formats chart this morning. The only other new entries to make the top 40 were Street Fighter X Tekken at No.3, PC exclusive The Sims 3: Showtime at No.6, and Vita exclusive Unit 13 at No.15.
