6 potential bidders for GAME UK - report

And a further 20 suitors keen on the retailer's international assets

"Five or six" potential suitors began circling GAME UK after the firm announced plans to file for administration yesterday.

That's according to Retail Week (via MCV), which claims a further 20 suitors are interested in the retailer's international assets, with its Iberian business most sought after.

The report says GAME has ten days to find a buyer, during which it'll be protected from creditors - the firm is thought to owe about £180 million and has a £21 million rent bill due to be paid to landlords this Sunday.

Last week the retailer's lenders rejected a rescue deal proposed by private equity firm OpCapita. Retail Week's source said the banks - which include RBS, Barclays and HSBC - were more interested in 'minimising the size of their haircut'.
