Composer thinks EA would 'probably back Shadows of the Damned 2'

Akira Yamaoka says he's been thinking about a sequel

Despite lacklustre sales, famed Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has said he thinks a sequel to Suda51 and Shinji Mikami's Shadows of the Damned is a possibility.

Yamaoka, who left Konami to join Goichi Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture in 2010, was asked by Eurogamer where the studio stood on a second Shadows of the Damned title.

"I'm thinking of a sequel, actually," he said. "I can't tell you here, but clearly I'd like to."

When pushed to discuss whether EA would be willing to back such a project, Yamaoka was optimistic, replying "probably," before adding, "well, yes." We're not so sure.

Shortly after release it was revealed Shadows of the Damned sold just 24,000 copies in its first month on sale in the States, despite receiving a largely positive critical reception.
