Angry Birds Space will appear on Windows Phone 7 after all, as developer Rovio retracts an earlier statement dismissing the platform.
In reports earlier today Rovio's chief marketing officer Peter Vesterbacka was quoted questioning the value of porting its games to the 'smaller platform'. "We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it's a lot of work to technically support it," he said.
This was taken as confirmation that Angry Birds Space won't be appearing on WP7, but it now seems Vesterbacka may have spoken out of turn.
"We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7," Rovio chief executive Mikael Hed has confirmed to Reuters, backtracking on Vesterbacka's earlier statement.
"We are working closely together with Nokia to bring our games to their platforms," Hed added (via GI). "Our mutual goal is to bring the best possible experience to our fans, including all fans using Windows Phone devices."
