Assassin's Creed 3 will use the Wii U controller to display information given to the player through the Animus.
That's according to MyNintendoNews, which says the tablet displays the map and Animus Database entries to serve as an encyclopedia for all things Assasin Creed.
According to the site the tablet's touchscreen can be used to quickly select weapons during combat. Since Connor, the main character of AC3, seems to be able to dual-wield, the screen can also be used to switch between singe weapon and dual weapon modes.
Finally, the site claims the tablet can function as an alternate view for Eagle Vision, with players given the ability to control the camera in this view through the built-in accelerometer.
Earlier this month new Assassin's Creed 3 details confirmed the game's settings, seasons and ageing.
