Half of all US households, totalling more than 55 million homes, own an iPhone, iPad, iPod or Mac.
That's according to CNBC's All-America Economic survey, which found that the average household has 1.6 Apple products, and almost 25 percent intend to purchase at least one more in the next 12 months.
The survey showed that Apple buyers are usually male, college-educated, and younger.
CNBC polled 836 Americans over the phone from March 19 to 22, and says its results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.
Earlier this month, Apple sold more than three million units of the new iPad in its launch weekend, representing the strongest iPad launch yet.
Apple shares closed at an all-time high of $614.48 yesterday. It's the world's most valuable company, with a market value of almost $573.92 billion.
