Ubisoft took a big risk in bringing multiplayer into the fray of Assassin's Creed, but we're bloody glad they did. Not only was it a surprise to discover it was actually good, it was a refreshingly different from everything else on the market.
That said it still retained that niche, slightly hardcore feel, favouring those that really put the hours in leaving newcomers twisting in the wind until they really earn their stripes. While we wouldn't want the hardcore players to miss out on the rewarding slope of progression as they improve their assassin, we think the multiplayer is too good to stay limited to their ranks.
We'd like to see Ubi make multiplayer more inclusive and balanced for vets and noobs equally. It shouldn't be about punishing people for not being good enough, it should also focus on keeping not-so-great players on a level where they still pose a threat, but will have to be skillfull to bring down a vet.
