Nintendo is planning to launch Wii U in November, according to an internal email reportedly leaked from Akihabara-based Media Land, a popular video games retailer in Tokyo.
The memo, which is said to have been circulated among staff at the Japanese store before being obtained by WiiUDaily, suggests Wii U is slated to launch in North America on Sunday, November 18, 2012, and one week later in Nintendo's home country.
It apparently contained no word regarding European Wii U launch plans, and didn't say whether November 18 is an internal target date for Nintendo or if the platform holder has firmly committed to it.
The original Wii released on November 19, 2006, which was also a Sunday. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said in January that Wii U will be available in the US, Japan and Europe by the end of 2012.
Speaking under the condition of anonymity, a number of Wii U developers suggested this week that Wii U's graphical capabilities are weaker than PS3's and Xbox 360's.
