Minecraft creator's new game gets early screenshots

Notch pulls back the curtain a little on his "hard sci-fi" title

Minecraft creator and Mojang founder Markus 'Notch' Persson has released some early screenshots of his latest project.

Titled 0x10c and dubbed "hard sci-fi" by the man himself, the game is set in the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, with civilisation waking up to a world on the brink of extinction and a galaxy dominated by black holes.

Notch has said he'd like the title to feature engineering, mining, trading, looting, an advanced economy system, a fully working computer system and... duct tape.

He plans to release the game early and let players help shape its future development in much the same way as he did with Minecraft.
