EA has released the first gameplay trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
From a first viewing it looks like a montage of stuff we've seen before spliced with gameplay footage, all of which looks fairly lovely - if dark and gloomy - which is to be expected given that it's powered by DICE's Frostbite 2 engine.
At GDC last month, we had a chance to chat to EA senior creative director Richard Farrelly about Warfighter's development, and specifically Danger Close's adoption of DICE's tech and its bid to create a signature look for the new Medal of Honor.
"I think we have our own signature look," he said. "I think it looks a lot different from Battlefield even though it's on the same engine. It's more intimate, but we still have some of the same elements that they have like the micro-destruction and the amazing lighting."
Danger Close said recently it's not interested in EA's annual fight with Activision and Call of Duty, but with Warfighter's October 23 release falling just two weeks before the expected launch of the as-yet-unannounced Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, comparisons between the two, and the usual round of smack talk between rival executives, seem inevitable.
