Nintendo super-designer Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't think a new F-Zero game would be all that appealing.
"I think at the time it [F-Zero] was a really big surprise, a new thing, a product that made sense," Miyamoto told Edge when question on the prospect of a new entry in the series. "I don't see with current hardware how you could create a similar surprise," he added.
And he's right. "Current hardware" - meaning Wii - wouldn't be up to the task of producing an F-Zero experience all that different from the awesome GameCube game. If only Nintendo were making a new, more powerful console though. Oh wait...
"But maybe with future hardware, with Wii U coming up, maybe we could create something that does make sense, either as a smaller game, or a fully fledged title," he added.
That's more like it.
