Lost Planet 3 dev Spark working on another 'established console franchise'

A combat heavy, third-person title built with Unreal Engine

Spark Unlimited, the Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary: The Box developer which was recently revealed to be working on Capcom's Lost Planet 3, is also creating a "bold new take" on an "established" third-person console franchise.

According to a job listing on Gamasutra, Spark is seeking a lead combat designer to work on "a breakout hit based on an established console franchise... with horror elements for the PS3 and Xbox 360".

Candidates must have a "record designing and balancing combat, player controls, and AI for AAA third-person melee action games" and an "understanding of sword fighting combat tactics, martial arts and weapons".

The successful applicant will be working "closely with the Game Director and leads to develop a combat system that feels visceral, fast, and fun". The 'preferred skills' section of the job post lists "Unreal 3 level building and scripting experience" as a plus, suggesting the title will be powered by Epic's tech.

A separate second job post on Spark's own website reveals the unannounced project will have multiplayer/co-op functionality.

Spark was rumoured to be working on Star Wars: Battlefront 3, but recently denied this was the case.

Speculation points to the second project being Onimusha or Maximo, although neither of the job adverts mention the title being a Capcom property.
