3DS is over a year old now and owners' Home screens are starting to get a little cluttered. Nintendo knows this and it's doing something about it.
The firm announced during its Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast last night that it's preparing a new firmware update that will add folder functionality to the handheld's Home screen. Users will be able to create and name folders that can store up to 60 items each.
The new firmware will also add support for software updates, or patches, which we figure is both good and bad news.
On the plus side we'll be getting patches to fix bugs, the first of which will be for Mario Kart 7 to fix shortcut exploits (YES!). On the downside, patches are now 'A Thing' on 3DS.
