Nintendo is to begin making money on each 3DS unit sold by the end of September 2012.
"For the Nintendo 3DS, its hardware has been sold below cost because of its significant price cut in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013," the company said today.
"However, Nintendo expects to cease selling it below cost by the middle of the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013."
Earlier today Nintendo reported its first ever annual loss. The company sold 13.35 million 3DS units in the business year ended March 31, 2012, taking lifetime sales to 17.1 million. It expects to sell 18.5 million 3DS systems during the current business year.
