Sony exploring multiple tiers for PS Plus subscriptions

Survey asks what you'd pay if it included free new PS3 games and Call of Duty: Elite

Sony is reportedly canvassing individuals to find out what their perfect PlayStation Plus package would cost.

An email survey sent to consumers (via IGN) has seemingly been designed to explore the potential of multiple pricing tiers for PS Plus, which can be purchased annually for £39.99 / EUR 49.99 or for 90 days at a price of £11.99 / EUR 14.99.

PlayStation Plus includes premium gaming features such as full game trials, automatic system and game updates, plus PlayStation Store special offers including game downloads, discounts, early access to demos and beta trials.

The survey hints at the possibility of the introduction of a monthly subscription option, and the perks on off vary greatly from potential plan to plan.

One question asks: How much would you pay for the subscription-based program if it included Call of Duty: Elite and free, new Blu-ray games?

A Sony spokesperson said of the survey: "We have nothing specific to announce at this time, but PlayStation Plus continues to delight gamers with free games, huge discounts and exclusive gaming features that can't be found on other platforms."

Sony is currently carrying out PlayStation Network maintenance until 11pm this evening UK time.
