Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City sales hit 2 million

But Street Fighter X Tekken underperforms as Capcom's annual sales and profits decline

Capcom has reported "sluggish" results for the business year ended March 31, 2012, with net sales down 16 percent to 82 billion (£635.2m) and profit down 13.3 percent to 6.7 billion (£52m).

While its mobile division saw an increase in sales, the biggest declines were in the Capcom's games division, where revenue fell by almost 24 percent, Edge reports.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and 3DS title Monster Hunter 3G "performed steadily", shifting 1.95 million units and 1.6 million respectively, but worldwide sales of Street Fighter X Tekken "lagged" at 1.4 million.

The publisher said it plans to boost profits in the coming year with a focus on "high growth potential online content", including mobile games, DLC and the release of major titles "oriented toward the overseas market, including Resident Evil 6".
