Ubisoft has announced plans to run a closed Far Cry 3 multiplayer beta on PS3 and Xbox 360 for two weeks this summer.
Featuring multiple maps and modes, it'll support up to 16 players per match and offer six playable classes to choose from.
It's invitation only, but those hoping to get in on the action can enter a sweepstake to win one of 500 codes on Facebook, while beta keys will also be distributed through Ubi.com and farcrygame.com.
US-based GameStop PowerUp Rewards members can also gain access by picking up Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at GameStop retail outlets on May 22.
While the main game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the multiplayer component is being handled by Ubisoft Massive, the studio behind World in Conflict and also a contributor to Assassin's Creed Revelations. Get our thoughts on it in this Far Cry 3 multiplayer preview.
Far Cry 3 is set for release on consoles and PC on September 4 in North America and three days later on this side of the pond.
