Developer confirms plans for hotfixes and details upcoming patches

Blizzard has explained how it plans to address Diablo 3 issues and detailed its philosophy on design changes for the game.

Posting on the official Diablo 3 site the studio said it plans to "react quickly to critical design and balance issues, bugs, and other problems that seriously conflict with our design intent through hotfixes". Lesser issues will be addressed in a more measured fashion with client updates.

Patch 1.0.2 is the next scheduled client update. In development since the game's launch, it's primarily intended to fix service issues. The follow-up patch, 1.0.3, will provide the first real game package of balance changes outside of reactionary hotfixes.

The post goes on to detail some nitty-gritty changes to Lingering Fog, Boon of Protection and Force Armor, which Blizzard admits are "simply more powerful than they should be".

Last week Blizzard delayed the launch of Diablo 3's real-money auction house again. It was originally expected to go live on May 22, then May 29, but will now launch at an unspecified date.
