EA on CoD settlement: 'Activision's case was absurd'

Publisher weighs in on Activision's "refusal to pay their talent"

EA has weighed in on Activision following today's settlement announcement in the Infinity Ward trial.

Speaking with Kotaku, and EA rep said: "Activision's refusal to pay their talent and attempt to blame EA were absurd. This settlement is a vindication of Vince and Jason, and the right of creative artists to collect the rewards due for their hard work."

The legal fight between Activision and former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella ended today as a settlement was reached between all parties, the terms of which went undisclosed.

In a press release offered shortly after our initial report, Activision said: "The company does not believe that the incremental one-time charges related to the settlement will result in a material impact on its GAAP or non-GAAP earnings per share outlook for the current quarter or the calendar year, due to stronger-than-expected operating performance in the current quarter."
