LucasArts announces 18-rated Star Wars 1313

A new era for Star Wars?

LucasArts has announced a new Star Wars 1313 a new entry in the franchise that, judging by its provisional 18 rating, is being pitched to a mature audience.

The announcement comes from Spike's Game Trailers TV Show, and looks to be a third person action adventure title, where players take on the role of a bounty hunter.

The title comes from the setting of the game - subterranean metropolis level 1313, below the planet Coruscant.

LucasArts has said that players will use "exotic" weapons and a mix of human skills and gadgetry, rather than any use of the force. LucasArts has also commented that the game will focus on fast paced combat combined with cover based combat, with platforming elements and "playable cinematic gameplay," reads the official blurb.

"Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world."

"Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy.

Paul Meegan, president of LucasArts has said in a statement "Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we've always known existed, but never had a chance to visit."

The game will make its official debut at E3, we will keep you informed as we know more.

Let's just hope there is no dancing in this one.
